Social Studies Curriculum Review - 2020-2021
During this very hectic and unsettled school year, I worked alongside another teacher and our Social Studies coordinator to help write, pilot, and review our Social Studies Curriculum.
We worked to implement Interactive Read Alouds, Social Studies Standards, and Project-Based Learning principles to motivate and engage students to dig deeper into American history since its inception.
Project Based Learning Inaugural Cohort - 2017 - 2018
During this year, I helped shift my classroom practice to be more collaborative, cooperative, and authentic by teaching my students how to be more independent and in charge of their learning through this process. All the while, gathering positive data in increased test scores, higher rates of meaningful student engagement, and more community involvement in my classroom than every before!
